When it comes to deer and deer hunting, if you really want to become a top notch deer hunter, you will need to take some very important steps.

Success with anything doesn’t just happen by chance or luck-almost all of the time, it requires you to have some specialized knowledge, and deer hunting is no exception.

Most hunters think that catching a deer is mostly about luck, and while luck plays a part, the reality is that most of your success is dependent on you. Here are some tips to help you get that prized deer as fast as possible.

First of all, remember that where you hunt is the most important factor. Even if you are a bad hunter, you have a chance to get a deer when there are many around, but you could be the best hunter in the world and still not catch one if there aren’t any around. Sounds obvious, but many people don’t pay enough attention to their location, the most critical important aspect.

For deer an deer hunting success, you need to pick an area and get there at least 24 hours earlier to check it out if you haven’t hunted there before. Check out where the deer go to drink, eat, where they reside, and attempt to find the trails they take to and from wherever they happen to b going.

Then you just get yourself in between the two areas and you have set up yourself for success. This is critically important to becoming a successful deer hunter. If you remember nothing else from this article, remember this point, and you should be ready to go.

Something else you might consider doing is going out with an experienced hunter the first time or two, as you will learn a lot about deer and deer hunting from them, and seeing how they do things can really cut some time off your learning curve in a hurry.

Also, watch some hunting shows on television, as you can learn a lot from just watching ten or fifteen minutes of how they do things. Make sure you go out around dawn or later as the sun is just going down, as this is the time you will see the most deer, and therefore have the best chance of success.

Another reason it’s important to go out early is that the deer will not spot you in the area, because if they do, they will likely not go near there that entire day. If you make sure that they don’t see you, you will not have to worry about this.

One final tip: make sure you don’t have any strong smelling items or clothing with you, as deer smell very well, and if you carry anything like that with you, they will detect it in a minute, and avoid you. Remember, if nothing else, remember that location is the most important aspect of your success as a deer hunter.

Keep this info in mind when it comes to deer and deer hunting, and you will achieve success very quickly.

Why do people get so enraged at dogfighting but when it comes to hunting or even fishing no one cares?
please keep in mind i am only bringing this up for an objective answer

of course we all know dogfighting is heinous, sick, and wrong, its just that there is a complete hypocrisy when dealing with animal rights, as if dogs are above humans and all other animals mean nothing, how about some equality? i say treat all animals fairly, but if you dont want to waste time doing that then dont get so mad if dogs are fighting if you arent going to want to burn a deer hunter in hell along with michael vick, i dont like when people pick and choose what creatures they want to survive and which ones are okay to kill, where does that sound familiar, oh yeah germany in 1943…

its also funny how one of the points against vick is that he owns 4 or 5 pitbulls so he must be involved in dogfighting… so i guess the only purpose a pitbull serves is to fight, if you cant see them as just normal pets then what makes them any different from a beast on a leash, just asking for some consistency folks…
I did read that there was more evidence against Vick but they still mentioned the pitbulls and how suspicious that was, so if thats a point theyre making against him, … well itll be interesting to watch the trial ill say that much
the thing about hunting is youre going into the animals territory to kill them, that aint right… thats why i never have sympathy for shark attack victims, just dont go where you arent supposed to be!

these dogs are bred to fight and probably cant lead any normal life its horrible, the people responsible should be locked up and fined but where is the outrage elsewhere?

to be honest i think there are human beings out there that need the help we offer to animals, but im not against animals in anyway
heres the THANG, a vegan guy came to our school one day and showed us a video of animal cruelty at chicken and cow farms, this stuff was EXTREME

they ELECTROCUTE goats and cows same as dogs…

they even hang the cows upside down from a cable and slit their throats and the blood spills out while it jitters and convulses, you have to see this to understand,

i find no difference between animal cruelty in the food industry and "dogfighting" other than the purpose which is totally subjective, they kill and EAT dogs in korea for god sake

i think a lot of you need to open your eyes to animal cruelty and then maybe you could stop ignoring how evil hunting and all that really is

    Great question!

Maybe because when people hunt or fish is usually to eat what they catch, and in dog fights there is no purpose what so ever.

I hear ya, but the Vick thing your misinformed. There has been an investigator following him for awhile and has witness torturing the dogs with beatings and electricity.
Hunters usually shoot to kill, no cruelty.

"life feeds on life, this is necessary"… Maynard James Keenan

Ends justify means in this case- although loosely. Humans don’t really NEED to eat meat to survive, BUT we do anyway. Meat is a food source, and its not like we can get much without killing the animal. That’s how it goes.

Dogfighting is a form of gambling. Not a just cause for the death of anything.

WoW…ok First…We hunt to control population. We don’t have a way to neuter (deer, fish,etc..)as a way of controlling wild animal population. So we hunt, it’s part of the circle of life because we eat what we hunt(in most cases).Otherwise we would be over run with wild animals in areas where there are people living ad that is dangerous for so many reasons.True the animals were here first and we are i their territory but they also would not exist if it weren’t for us.It’s all a big complex circle. Dog fighting or rooster fighting or Siamese fish fighting or any other kind of animal fighting is training forcing an animal to attack another animal purely for entertainment. Micheal Vick by the way is a F*&$@-ing idiot for trying to deny any dog fighting with the evidence stacking against him that he has tried to hide which he thinks he can get away with because he is a celebrity. Pit bulls are in fact very gentle dogs and are actually good with children. They become viscous because they are starved, beaten, whipped, and burned to be toughened up. the only time they get treated well when used for fighting is when they kill the other dog, but they are still abused to keep them in the zone. THEY DON"T HAVE A VOICE! they can’t say stop hurting me, or I don’t want to do this. they are FORCED into submission for survival. THIS IS WRONG.

killing stuff is an ancient instinct for eating. you get excited and feel powerful and get money from your tribe for killing.
folks like to bet and take sides in games too for the same
ancient instinct. older folks do less and watch more. they like to remember winning.

dogs have been known as faithful companion helpers to man for thousands of years. truly, everywhere. no doubt as food, too.

I am in Korea where an ancient tradition serves dog soup which Ive tried only twice in ten years. hunting/fishing is more closely associated with food needs. nowadays.

every time you eat, something dies because of it. but really? it also gets new life because it becomes part of your body, plants too. things became part of that lives body in the same way.

i dont like dog, cock, bull, people fighting.
but absolutely, you can be sure that the people who complain about any of these on tv, are doing it for money.

The difference between hunting and dog fighting?….First off I am no hunter….Hunters strive to kill the animal instantly, they honestly would much rather drop a deer instantly with a well placed shot than to to track the wounded animal for hours deep into the woods, only to have to drag it back out,……… now if the hunter were to say,….. spend a few hours ripping flesh out the animal with a pair of pliers, break its legs, work it until it falls over with exhaustion, then finally kill it by hanging it by the neck, that would compare to dogfighting.
